Grain exports to Uzbekistan
Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have signed many cooperation agreements that contribute to the development of their trade relations. Grain exports are an important part of this cooperation.
Northern Kazakhstan is one of the largest grain producers in the region, and Uzbekistan is one of its largest importers. The high quality of Kazakh wheat and its affordable price make it attractive.
In addition, the developed transportation infrastructure, in particular railroad connections between the countries, allows for large grain shipments with minimal logistical costs.
From NKR to Uzbekistan, grain is delivered mainly by railroads, which allows for the transportation of large volumes of cargo over any distance.
Railroads connect Kazakhstan with Uzbekistan, as well as with other Central Asian countries, which makes this route economically beneficial. Road transportation is used mainly for grain deliveries to hard-to-reach areas.
The most demanded export crops are wheat, barley, lentils, peas, flax and others. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the volume of grain exports.
The North Kazakhstan company Horizont-Petropavlovsk LLP sells oilseeds, pulses and grain crops for export in large volumes. The company has been on the market since 2015, during this time all stages of grain cultivation, storage at its own elevators, loading and shipment of grain to Central Asian countries have been established.
